Gerald's Story
...Let's see...after graduating from Catherdral High in '64, had some odd jobs, then joined the Alexian Brothers, lasting 6 mo. ( hated the poly robes); then got a job a Allisons; joined the Air Force (don't ask, don't tell....well....they followed me going over my 100 mi. limit, just because a private plane would pick me up and fly me off to Atlanta...lol)...went' back and worked at Allison. Then I met Bill, my partner now for 38 yrs. We moved to SF in '75, he pursued his hair cutting, and I went to fashion design school and worked as an assistant designer for a dress company.
After several years in SF (buying property, fix'n the grand victorians up) moved to the Russian River (75mi. no....a mostly gay resort) worke...Expand for more
d at a gay bar there making good money and having a blast, Bill thought I should get a legit job...so off to floral design school i went. Eventually, I had my own shop in Santa Rosa, and Bill, had his own salon as well.
With Bill's folks aging, we decided to move backto his home town, Terre Haute, In., opened our own business, this time, an old gas station became our business.....I have my flower shop most of it and he has his salon in the other part....works well!!!
We bought hhis parents home on a private 5 ac. strip pit, did a lot of remodeling, we both love gardening and decorating.....and we love our 2 Giant Schnauzers! That being said, life has been one, and is still a great and clolorful adventure! Jerry
