Gillian (Jill)'s Story

Life SFU's 40th anniversary celebration prompted me to register myself here again - it was so nice to run into some of my former classmates, whom I had not seen in many years. Since graduating from SFU I had an interesting and varied career with 25 years as a professional fundraiser. One of the highlights of those years was three years in the late 80's in Toronto with the National Ballet of Canada - great fun but tiring and the attraction of Toronto waned pretty quickly for me. In August 2006 I ended 10 years as the Director of College Advancement (fundraising and Alumni Relations) at Langara College here in Vancouver. I am now retired and loving it - I don't know when I found the time to work...Expand for more
. After retiring I volunteered for 17 months with the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics - prior to the games as a trainer/facilitator and during the games as an Olympic Family Assistant/Driver. I never married but, over the years, had some interesting relationships - guess I kept picking the wrong guys. I currently live in the West End of Vancouver and love being downtown near the ocean and all the great things that downtown has to offer. I golf in a mediocre manner, love to hang out with my friends, volunteer for the the Writer's Fest as well as other occasional events and love driving my Miata with the top down in the summer. It would be great to reconnect with some of my old school friends.
