Gillian's Story
Life
My 25th wedding anniversary is coming up this July. We have been living on the main street of a small town north of Kitchener- Waterloo for the last 17 years(in Mennonite country so I have horse and buggies going past routinely)I met my husband at the University of Western Ontario the day I started doing by M.B.A. at the Ivey Business School.
I have 4 sons ages 23.21,17 and 15. They currently all live at home so I am buried under laundry and what is for dinner issues. The oldest two were away at university but both graduated in April. The eldest is an Interal Controls analyst at Sunlife and is working on his CMA. He bought a loft that won't be ready for a year so I have his dog and my big dog and cat to keep me company at all times. The 21 year old took Television Broadcasting at school and has a production company that operates out of our basement. He has worked on a few features in California and is a PA on '11 Cameras' a new CBC show currently being shot in TO. The 17 year old is off to university in the fall to take business (hasn't decided which offer yet) hopefully not too far away. The 15 year old is a 6 foot 2 good athelete (not certain where he got those genes). We live next door to the high school so I am a fulltime spectato...Expand for more
r. Even my oldest still plays goal (hockey) several times a week and thinks I want to watch.
All six of us just returned from Disney World where my to my surprise loved going over and over again on Tower of Terror and Everest. I even did all of the water slides at Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. It wasn't pretty but I was definetly the oldest and maybe craziest lady at the top. I discovered that screaming is a really good stress reliever.
Both of my parents died of cancer about 5 years ago (within 10 months of each other). My youngest had chronic ITP at the same time (he rejected his platletes- autoimmune disorder with syptoms like hemophillia). He was in critical for a year but he had his spleen removed and that has basically solved the problem except that is has been on pencillin every day since. He was barely allowed to move because he briused so easily. I think this is why he is so keen on sports now. My 21 yrear old had Kowasaki's Disease ( another on in a million thing)as a child. All of the boys were huge babies- 10lbs60z,11lbs2oz, 11lbs7oz.
Anyway the point is that I should have been a doctor I have spent alot of time in hospitals.
I think have rambled on a bit to long . Sorry. Looking forward to reading all of your stories.
