Who was that School Dean? Mr. Weber? Well he called me into his office the 2nd week of my senior year and told me DP was too crowded. "Glenda, would you like to get out of school early?" What would you have said? No, I just love school so much, please don't make me go? I was 16 yrs old! Of course I wanted out! So... that was boring! BUT that's how I began working for Dr. Prentice at Fairview Pet Clinic (this was Steve Prentice's dad.) I loved that job! About 4 years later I went to work with my sister Sheila Thorp at Sambo's Restaurants Headquarters in Carpinteria. I was an Assistant to the Communications Department Manager. I would still be there today if they hadn't had to closed their doors. 1981 - 1994 I was Business Systems/Accounting Manager for Magretech, Inc. (This company bought the old "FUBAR" Restaurant on Hollister Ave.) I helped them grow and then layoff all but a few and family....Expand for more
