Dr. Glenn's Story

Life Married, four children (two boys & two girls), ranging in age from 56 to 31years. All four children were born in different countries: Scotland, Vietnam, the Philippines, and the USA (Denver). Six grandchildren, five boys and one girl. Retired from the military after 24+ years of service in 1980. Taught and coached in Denver public schools for 5 years, then hired by Martin Marietta Corporation in Denver. Transferred to the Kennedy Space Center on January 2, 1993, and retired from KSC in April 2000, after 15 years as Manager of Executive Development. Presently Graduate Professor of Management and Dean of Faculty with the Webster University Graduate School of Business. I spend 3-6 months per year teaching graduate courses at the Webster U. campuses in Shanghai, Chengdu, and Shen Zhen, China, and will return to Chengdu on October 18th of this year, which will be my twelfth professiorial assignement to China. Another adventure for sure, my plane left the runway in Chengdu on May 12, 2008 42 minutes before the earthquake hit. I am also a member of the faculty at l' Ecole de Management, Bordeaux Business School, France where I teach undergraduate courses in Fall semesters. An Organizational Development Consultant in private practice, my clientele are primarily aerospace companies at KSC and government agencies. Among my "great loves" are my family, my faith, my profession, music, athletics, and travel. My wife is Vietnamese, thus we have a very close, loving family. My profession, which is the field of Education, could not be better, as it is what I truly love to do. In fact, one of my favorite adages is from Confucius, who said: "Select a job that you love and you will never work a day in your life!" So very true. Pretty much multi-lingual, I get by in Vietnamese, French, Spanish, Chinese, and to a lesser degree, English. :) There is nothing like seeing evidence of having positively impacted someone's life. Ironically, I didn't even LIKE teachers while in high school, or I was pretty selective about it. Those teachers who made me work w...Expand for more
ere not on my "favorites list." I am a relatively minor collector of what I consider to be "good music," and lug my CDs around the world - literally. My collection includes about 2,000 LPs and roughly 800 CDs. For example, I have a complete Ray Conniff collection on LP (115 of 'em), plus another hundred on CD. In terms of athletics, I had a wonderful athletic career until fairly recently. Played professional soccer in Europe for almost five years, an additional five in the Far East, and played semi-pro in the US until I was sixty, when the right hip gave out and finally had to be replaced. Now the left one has also been replaced, but the results have been marvellous. Travel? The many outstanding jobs I had in the military, aerospace, and now have in education provided me with opportunities to visit 96 different countries, most recently Tibet, but none in Central and South America - except Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Jamaica! Life is a blessing, so live it to the fullest, and involve other people in your life experiences as much as possible. Workplace I have retired from the military (25 years), the Aerospace industry (16 years), and am actually on Social Security as well. But I am still a very active university professor and Organizational Development Consultant, in private practice. In addition to my professorial duties at the Webster University Florida campuses, I am also an Academic Advisor, Dean of Faculty and Master's Theses Mentor. I teach regularly at other campuses in Europe and Asia, and I always ensure my well-deserving wife travels with me. As of November 1, 2020, I have ended my professorial career after twenty-six years. Also, my career as a professor in the Far East has also come to an end, after serving twenty-five three-month assignments in China. Overall, I have spent a significant part of my professional life overseas, being blessed with five years in Europe, five in the Philippines, seven years in Vietnam and Laos, and seven more years in China. No, my citizenship has never been questioned, much less jeopardized. :)
