gloria's Story
I started late in the school year of 1957. i was devastated to leave all my friends behind and start in a new school. Found out when entering St. James that there were no books available for me. Not one....so the first year was spent looking over everyone's shoulder to look into their books. I was married shortly after graduation to my best friend and soulmate who passed away 6 years ago. I did not attend college until the grand ol age of 35 and went on to receive my degrees in accounting and economics. This is strange since I actually failed business math at St.. James. If Sister Justin could have seen she would not have believed! I retired early from Ex-Cell-O/Textron as Mgr. of Banking and Investment in 1991 and moved with my husband, Jerry, to the north woods. ton Mich. Although I love living here I find that I must put the homestead up for sale. There is just too much to take care of and the thought of a small home on a small lot with minimul maintainance is so appealing.
I do brag about my age since it beats the alternative. Have a dog that is a hairy little mut that is supposed to weigh 10 lbs but somehow it weighs 14.5 lbs. Imagine that, how did that happen? She is female but her name is "george". The only tricks she knows is to get under foot and beg for food..
I consider myself active in the local community. Currently on the committee to elect both the sheriff and the probate judge. I am block captain for Neighborhood Watch. (have not shot anyone yet). Belong to a movie group,and breakfast group. Each meets once a month.So I do manage to stay out of trouble.
