Goldie's Story
I went to college in Long Beach CA and returned to SA in 1967. Went to work for SBC 3/25/68 and retired as night supervisor of Long Distance Operators in 1/11/1992. Took a position with Citicorp which had just moved to SA in 1992. Got my series 7 and 69 brokerage licenses and worked until 2006 with private bank clients. First did Cust Service, then Margin Call Rep and finally Quality Assurance. I retired 2/28/2006. Went to work for WAMU in Banking, then Mortgage and back to Investments.
Sat 1/16/2010 will be my 37th wedding anniversary. My husband went in to the Police Dept after leaving the Air Force. He retired with 23years with SAPD and 20 yrs Air Force both regular and reserve. We have a total of 6 children. He had three girls ages 2,4, and 7 when we married. We have sons that are now 36 and 34. The baby girl is 32 and is my clone. The last 2 live on the home property. Ten grandchildren total.
We live in the country (used to be country) outside Bulverde. We have a triplex with total of over 4000 feet and on 15 acres with one neighbor. We work with several vets to take abandoned companion animals that are older and have lost owners or military families that are shipped out. We are ful...Expand for more
l with dogs, cats, and deer. Have 6ft chain link around 3 acres with 4 different yards.
Love God and family. Try to be a blessing every day. Worked extensively with AIDS patients during the early 90's, substitute mother for several. They were military and picked up AIDS overseas before much was none. Some we were able to reunite with families. We were their family if they had no one, still miss them.
Time goes so fast, don't waste a minute.
Started working with San Antonio Pets Alive in 2012. I do bottle babies now that are turned in at ACS. Bottle Babies are put down immediately and San Antonio Pets Alive is the only rescue that pulls them. I have had 85 pups between the age of 1-4 days in just the last 2 years. I only lost three. They have to be fed every 2 hours at first. We keep them until they are 8-10weeks old and then they go to their adopted families. We have pups who have flown to Wisconsin, Idaho, Pacific Northwest and Minneapolis. We partner with Humane Society in othe norther states where there is no stray problem like SA. The shelter in Wisconsin has an avg of 3 dogs on site and a waiting list for pups. I nursed a litter of Shar Pei .that were pre adopted in Wisconsin.
