Gordon's Story

Following my years at Prince Charles Public School and Sir Adam Beck Collegiate in the east end of London, I attended, in a couple of attempts, UWO, where I graduated, finally, in 1974. By then I had married (1969) Sandra Scott, my high-school sweetheart, and had a family started, with our oldest, Sarah, born in 1973. Emily was born in 1975, and we moved to Kingston that year. John, our youngest, was born in 1977. What followed was a career in education, working as a music teacher, then as a high school vice-principal until my retirement in June 2003. We live in a great old house (1876) in downtown Kingston and Sandra, after working as a music teacher for a number of years as well, opened a women's clothing store, Expressions Fashion Boutique, in 1989, and which has become very successful in the intervening years. dparents of Isaac, son of Sarah and her husband Peter, all of whom live in Vancouver. Sarah works as a hospital administrator in Vancouver. Emily, an occupational therapist by training, was married in June of 2007 to Aarron Jackson, who operates a bike shop, Gears and Grinds, here in Kingston. In July 08, Emily gave birth to Oliver, grandson #2 for Gordon and Sandra. In October 2010, Emily had her second, a baby girl she named Charlotte Mae. John lives in New York City with his girlfriend, Lindsay Orner, and works as an Associate Director for the Lean Operations Division of Starwood Corporation, which is the ownership group for hotels such as Sheraton, Westin, W, and Les Meridien, among others. I have conducted the Kingston Chamber Choir since 2004, and is now, for the next two years (2011-12), President of the Kingston Historical Society
