Gracelyn's Story
Life
Russell & I have been married since '98 and having babies since 2000. We've made our way around Texas. 2003 found us moving closer to the Panhandle with our three children. We are now expecting a 4th...due in Spring 2008.
Life is good.
I don't miss high school, but I miss the relationships there...life's much too short not to connect with others...be it those we've loved, hurt or otherwise. It would be a treat hearing from you!!
School
Biggest crushes were easily Ben Russ (Canyon H.S.), Danny Barrett and Coach Wood. Most inspiring teachers were Mrs. Moutos, Marcus Bradford and Debbie LaGrone.
If I could do it all over, I would have more fun and not be so uptight. I also would study harder, play more sports and try-out for drama (my husband tells me I would have been good at that....hmmm).
Would I do high school again? Only if I could take with me the experiences and knowledge of a 32-year-old woman.
A silly memory that comes to mind happened junior year over Christmas break at the mall. I met two loooooong-haired fellas feigning English accents and claiming to be from Liverpool.
They invited me and two un-named friends ...Expand for more
(you know who you are), to a party that night on the "Other Side" of town. We did not tell our parents - mine would have killed me. The guys turned out to be recovering addicts and the 'party' was a Narcotics Anonymous meeting. Very educational for 3 sixteen-year-old girls with nothing more to think about than their big hair. Mercy.
College
College was wonderful! I attended Texas Tech, joined (and slacked-off) in several different clubs and organizations. I met my husband and most of my dearest friends there.
Now there is something I would joyfully do again......
