Grady's Story
Hi Folks, It is with great anticipation that I write to you about the last few years! Take a look at how good the Lord has been to me.
I attended Huntsville schools until Feb. 1962 when my parents moved to a farm east of Willis 4.5 miles. I met my wife the first day of school at Willis HS. She wouldn't date me until I decided to go to church with her. I agreed, and we went to the Huntsville Tastee Freeze for the first date! Wow!
My family had a difficult time over the next few years, divorce,4 kids scattered, mother moved to Houston, etc, but somehow we kids managed to stay together. At the end of my junior year I worked construction then joined the U.S. Army. I served almost 3 years going to Louisiana then to Phu Bai, Vietnam for a year. I finished school in the military and began to put my family in the forefront.

fter discharge in July 1966 I returned to Willis. I learned the Lawn Sprinkler business and at the same time the Lord was calling me to the ministry. Pat and I have 2 children and 3 grandsons to date (Jan 2009). My daughter and her husband pastor Christian Life Church in Waco-Robinson and have a 23 year old son married who is the youth pastor. My son lives in Weches, Texas and has 2 boys 12 & 13. He runs my business now and his wife teaches at Kennard. He is a school board member also.
By the way I married Patricia Anne Greer of Willis May 22, 1964 while serving in the military. We have pastored several churches and now live here in Kennard, Feb. being 16 years.
When I think of all my classmates of Willis & Huntsville schools I realize I have been so blessed! It is such a thrill talking to all of you again! Grady (Sonny) Gladden
