Gregory's Story

In 1980 after graduating from High School, I tried out for a Cerritos Junior College Football Team with my one of my best friends and we were told we were too small, so I enlisted into the Army after the love of my life and I split up. I was Honorably Discharged in 1981 and began going to kicking camps to enhance the already great kicking skills I possessed. In 1983 while working at Toys R Us in Cerritos, I had a 2-week tryout with the USFL's L.A. Express and then in 1985 was signed for training camp with the Dallas Cowboys, but was waived due to injury. I was away from football for 5 years, working dead end jobs, partying and doing all of the things I didn't want to do. But in 1989 I decided to further my education after being on my death bed from drugs and made a decision to change and did. In 1990 I received my A.A. Degree in Mechanical Engineering and started to work out with Henry Ellard of the L.A. Rams at the Cerritos College Football Stadium. After many calls and negotiations, I was invited to a training camp sponsored by the LA Rams in 1992 and had tryouts and contract negotiations with teams like the SF 49ers, SD Chargers, PA Eagles, NY Jets and AZ Cardinals, while playing Semi Pro Football in Washington State and the top Punter in the nation. I married in 1993 and have 2 gorgeous daughters and divorced in 2002. I was trying to steer my career into coaching college football and coached Pop Warner, JR. High, High School, Semi Pro and College Football with great success. In 2002 while tutoring a punter in the NCAA, I was seriously thinking of signing a 3-year contract with the New Orleans Saints, but decided to pursue a more lucrative career in Real Estate Investments and after 3 years of research and development, I had much success, until after the real estate market crash starting in 2006. For myself, life has had its ups and d...Expand for more
owns, tough times, good times, but all and all, there are just many things I would never want to change because I still have good health, but for the first time ever, my sports life is stagnant to to knee surgery which hasn't healed and have to go back under the knife. I have been to every state and every major city in America and many, many cities in between. I have done so many things, too much to list, a very full, adventurous and great life and this will continue until the day the last nail is in my coffin. I have been playing the drums since age 8, Violin at age 10, Trombone at ages 12-14, Guitar from age 14 to present, Bass Guitar intermittently from age 28 and keyboards since 16. I have always wanted to play in a band, record music and tour. But that has been a tall order with not many people willing to commit the time to practice. I also do the lead and backing vocals and I am currently working in my studio where I call myself The GO Band and play all instruments and vocals. My 1st recorded album entitled Start, The GO Band and my 2nd album entitled JAZZ ROOM. Although I started feeling some exhaustion, as I heard in some of my vocal tracks, I started recording my 3rd album entitled RESTART, The GO Band, in Phoenix, AZ, which is the original album START but Professionally Remixed and Engineered Sound. While attempting to record RESTART and my 4th album entitled Nice Guys Finish Last, I just felt so exhausted that i couldn't sing anything and my vocals chords were very rasp. After a few months break, I got a studio in Fort Worth, Texas and was there I came to reality that the music recording business wasn't going to happen and I put it all away, retired from Engineering and Music as my health took a major swing for the worst, but in 2023, my health got better. Now I am doing Bible Study videos online and whatever else I want to do!
