Gregory's Story

Life Like most other people, there's been some really good times, and some really bad times in my life since my school-age years. Some regrets from the past have followed me through the years, along with some wonderfull memories as well. The short cliff-notes version of it all is that I've been married once, and soon after became happily divorced with no children. I still live in Michigan, although I've moved around the State some. Nearly moved to Gainesville (Florida) last year, but all the hurricanes made me reconsider! My philosophy of living fast and wild brought me to a crossroads where years of injuries and lack of maintainence left me in pain and barely able to get around. Feeling like an old man in my mid 30s wasn't cutting it, so I've been on a 'health kick' of sorts for a while now! I've dropped 86 pounds, and have gotten back into good enough shape to even take up skateboarding...at 37 years old! Amazing that it can be that much FUN to burn calories...although CRASHING SUCKS!!! (The ground really DOES get harder as you age!!!!) School High school wasn't anything special to me...I had moved to Dearborn from Fraser in Junior High, and still considered Fraser my home! My best friends and fondest memories took place at Dooley Elementary, and all these years later, I've still not forgotten the names and faces that surrounded me daily ...Expand for more
in my formative years and made those times...in the late 70s...the best years of my life. (Well SOME names kinda blurred...but the majority are still there!) I found it curious that our old Dooley classbooks didn't include the students' NAMES in them, so I took the time to restore the photos a little and add the names of those I could remember in the left hand margin. I've posted some of them in my photo album, which is in the Dooley Elementary section...along with dorky pictures of ME back then, in case y'all wanna LAUGH at my expense!! I really hope to hear from some of my fellow "Dooligans" from back then...drop a line anytime!! College I went to Wayne County Community College, Downriver Campus for a couple years. Never had any real direction, but I entered with the intent of possibly getting into teaching (on the grade school level). Ended up taking an interest in political Science and Criminal Justice for a while, but didn't do much in any of those directions, either!! Also took a few vocational type classes at WCCC-Western...for fun! Workplace Jeez, I'm a used car salesman...how sad is THAT?! Ha Ha...no, really...it's kinda cool! I enjoy it, and it keeps me off the streets, so I suppose it has SOME socially redeeming qualities after all, eh?! "Honest...a little old lady owned it, only drove it to church on Sundays..."!!!
