Gregory's Story
Life
After graduating, I attended UB for 5 years and received a Master of Architecture Degree in 1978. After several years of work experience and passing the 12-part exam, I became a Licensed Architect in 1984 with National Certification. While attending UB, I was able to attain enough experience in order to be admitted to the Land Surveyor's exam and received that license in 1979. I first became a partner in 1985 (Biggie Sturniolo Tomsic) and remained there until the firm, through various name changes, dissolved in 1997. After other ventures, I again became a partner in 2004 at Mach Architecture + Engineering, a member of the Bernier Carr Group, where our work, mostly educational facilities (K-12 and University), takes us throughout NYS. Recently I've become a US Green Building Council LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certified Professional. With that and the efforts of our firm, I was able to present Binghamton University with their first "green" building that is also the first LEED Certified Dormitory in NY. Since then I became a Code Enforcement Officer to better serve our clients. However, in January 2012 I left Mach Architecture and joined with my friend and collegue at Silvestri Architects. I have become a certified Home Inspector and have recently been admittd to the American Arbitration Association Board of Neutrals. I am also a licensed Architect in Massachusetts and Wisconsin and an instrument rated private pilot.

n (1 girl and 3 boys), all attending Ken Ton Schools. Jill, unfortunately, untimely and very tragically passed away in 1991 after one of our Florida vacations at the age of 35, leaving me with the 4 children, the youngest 2 at the time. Through this very trying time, we continued our activities with Scouts, various soccer teams, school activities and roller skating. I coached several soccer teams for each of the children, was Cub Master and Committee Chair in Boy Scouts. I also continued my involvement with PTA. Within a very short time after Jill's death, Kathy came into my life and we married in 1994. As for the children, Susan graduated UB with a Master of Social Work, is State Certified and now working in the Kenmore Town of Tonawanda School District. Gregory has become very interested in and is working on furthering a career in the restaurant business and wine making. John has opened his own landscaping business and is now working for the North Tonawanda Department of Public Works. James is working also with the North Tonawanda Public Works Department.
Kathy and I like to travel. Most of our vacations have been west, to various deserts, although we also enjoy the east coast oceans. Kathy has recently retired as a teacher and is enjoying consultanting work through various research groups for teaching and math. Although I am out-of-town a lot during the week and the weekends are busy, we find time to enjoy a good rock-and-roll band on Friday and/or Saturday nights and occasional dances. We love company. I'm in the phone book.
