Gwen's Story
Life
Ray and I married the summer after my own graduation from BHS. Since we have had three sons; one daughter who died. Our three sons chose lovely brides and from them we have gained six grandsons and two grand-daughters. Our first born grandaughter is married and now has two daughters and two sons. Since Ray graduated from French HS, we attend and enjoy his Class Reunions very much. We have been able to attend both of our most recent Reunions, which for each of us was our 50ths. Ray continues his engineering design work, with two of our sons working in his company. I am the Administrative Supervisor at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital, still on the 11-7 Shift which I have always worked. Night persons are very family oriented and supportive of each other, so I do not tire of working the 3rd shift. I still love to sing and continue in the Westminster Chancel Choir. U...Expand for more

College
I attended Lamar University to move from an LVN to an RN with an Associate Degree in Nursing. Continuing to work and to attend Lamar, I moved on to get my Bachelor of Science of Nursing Degree. During all this time I continued my work with the Sisters of Charity at St. Elizabeth Hospital. I owe the challenge of attending Lamar and obtaining my degrees and my life long dream of being an RN to Pat Morrison,RN, my 11-7 Nursing Supervisor and to Sammie Fox,RN, who was my Charge Nurse, then Supervisor, the Director of Med/Surg Nursing Units, and always my friend. I could never have worked, attended classes, studied, and finished my goals without Mrs. Morrison, Mrs. Fox, and my husband, Ray. To them, I will always give my thanks.
