Gwen's Story
Life
I live in Glen Carbon, Illinois, which is on the east side of the Mississippi river, across from St. Louis, Missouri. My husband of 7 years, Michael, is a Validation and Quality Assurance Manager for a pharmacuticals company. I have 2 extremely cute sons, Seth is 5 years and Jack is 2 years. My husband and I enjoy traveling (Phoenix, Las Vegas, Chicago, Memphis, Cozumel) and quiet nights in front of the fireplace.
Workplace
Currently I am employed by Home Instead Senior Care as Services Director. Some of my responsibliities are Risk Management, coordination of client care, scheduling, recruiting and training. It is an extremely demanding career, but I enjoy all aspects of my position. I'm currently working on the fast track with aspirations to be a General Manager of the franchise office that I currently work in. In 10 years, I hope to be much more financial successful and I am going to get there by continuing my education in Business Administration.
Heros
My parents have always been my heros. My mom passed away in 2002, I still miss her everyday. She was extemely supportive of all of my life choices and definitely a role model. I am still very close with my dad, we talk atleast once a week. He is, by far, the kind of man I would like my sons to resemble.
KIDS
What have I learned from my kids? "Washable" does not always mean it come...Expand for more
s out and non-toxic does not mean it will not turn their poop 12 different colors if ingested. I have also learned that there is nothing more soothing that feeling my son's breath on my skin as he falls asleep in my arms. Both of my sons laughter is totally contagious and sometimes you just have to laugh with them and pick your battles wisely.
HIGH SCHOOL
My current age is 36. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be boring. I was so completely right. My first job was at the Gashole where I got paid minimum wage to be a cashier. What I remember the most was that the owner was a perverted old man. The most memorable high school experience was graduating, moving away and realizing as an adult that most people I thought were friends were nothing more than back stabbing B*&^%$S and I only keep in touch with a very small handful of true friends. Oh yeah, and I will never forget tying Joey to Ramsbachers tree with Puddles' dog chain.
My favorite relaxation is going to a spa for a massage and a facial, coming home to a quiet house and a cold margarita.
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my kitchen and add on a second kitchen. My dream home would be self-cleaning, have an inground pool and be somewhere warm.
If I won $100 million, I'd give 50 million of it to my dad, then spend the rest on my family, my friends and foster kids.
