Hal's Story

After escaping from CHS I worked at AG Spaulding until 68. Joined USMC did my time on Okinawa, discharged in 1970. Moved to El Monte, Ca. Worked at some lousy jobs until 72. Used my GI Bill to go to Mt. San Antonio JC, learned the things I should have learned at CHS. Transfered to CSU Fullerton, graduated with Degree in Mathematics and a teaching Credential. With honors if anyone who knew me at CHS can believe that :-) Took a job at Sanger High and taught there for 29 years. Retired as dept. head in 2006. Great place and nice folks. I live in Wonder Valley in the Central valley of Ca. If you have ever been to Kings Canyon or Sequoia Parks you were pretty close to my home. I'm also about an hour and a half from Yosemite. If you have ever eaten an orange, walnut, grape, almond, peach, plum, etc. it probably came from the Sanger area. I spend a lot ...Expand for more
of time exploring in Kings Canyon. That is how I get my exercise a couple of times a week. When the snow gets to deep then I stay closer to home. I live close to the Kings River with lots of interesting places to explore. I'm also a board member of the Sanger Historical Society. If you like Indian basketry check us out on the web. In my spare time I chase women on eHarmony, It's never too late to find someone special :-) I know most of my CHS teachers have gone to their rewards. But, after my own career in teaching, I'd like to say I'm sorry I was such an Asshole. Poor old Mr. Corridan and all the others didn't deserve the crap I gave them. Oh Well. Take Care. Hal Never go to china the first week in October. Never!!! National Holiday the whole first week in october. You can't imagine a billion people everywhere you might want to visit.
