Haley's Story
Life
I have been working at Rainbows United in Wichita KS since 2002. Rainbows is organization that serves special needs children ages birth to 21.
I am currently a Child Development Teacher in the 3-4 year old classroom. I have 12 children total, 50% of my classroom is typically developing. The other 50% are special needs. The children in my class have a wide range of abilities, but I mostly have children with visual impairments and/or hearing impairments.
My work keeps me very busy! I am currently continuing my education at Butler Community College, so night classes take up even more of my time.

Although I'm not sure I'll be a teacher for life, I definitely want to stay in the early childhood field in some way. Making a difference in the life of a child has proven to be a very rewarding career path.
My parents are still happily married and live in Cheney, KS. My mom is currently the 6th grade English teacher at Cheney Middle School and my father works back at Sedgwick County Electric Coop. My little sister is attending school at Eric Fisher Academy in Wichita. She also has a new last name! Kelsey and Kevin Mitchell were married in June 2007. Kevin is in the Navy and recently returned from serving our country in Iraq.
