Life
entered the insurance business as an underwriter in 1950...retired from the Chubb Group of Ins. Companies as Sr. V-P, Senior Underwriting Officer in 1993. I'm currently the non-exec Chairman of an underwriting organization, Equinox Mgt Group, Inc. I was lucky enough to stumble into a kind of work that I loved.
I married Shirley Fredrickson, KHS '54, in 1955...the single best move of my life. We have two Children, Cynthia Anne, professor of Creative Writing at UNC Asheville,whose 4th novel is being published , and our son Christian,
who married a widow with 3 boys, and they had a little boy. This gives us 6 grandsons.. ...Expand for more
We are lucky in that both of our kids live within a half hour of us, here in the Smoky Mtns (or Blue Ridge....people still argue over which it is)... Life has been good to us.... I am recovering from a silent heartatac" suffered on Christmas EVE 2014 and it appears I l be arouns for along while I've recently lost afewclose local fiend , including m yhnting an hikein gpartner which limits thatactivity. My GRandson SAm Chadwic (Cynthia's second son)and I bought a tree farm last year and it is being harvested . iit isuccess. I am active nm ychurch St. Mathew's Anglican which is located just a mile away down the coont road .
