Hector's Story
Life
I have been in the concrete cutting & breaking industry since graduating from Western, having worked for Penhall Co. for 18 years, including 9 years in Texas as the marketing manager for the diamond blade division. I moved back to CA in 1999 to work for a competitor.
I met former classmate Doreen Haberman at the Western High 20th reunion. We started dating, and then got married August, 2001. We have a son, Tyler Haberman, who graduated from Anaheim's Esperanza High School in 2006.
In 2004, I accepted a position with Concut Diamond Products. I was given the opportunity to move back to Texas in 2006 to open a new territory for this company, taking advantage of my past experience in the Texas market. In 2011, I was offered a position with DITEQ Corp., a competitor. My territory now consists of Texas and Oklahoma.

to leave friends and family back in Southern Cal and move to a part of the U.S. that she had never given a second thought to. Tyler decided that it wasn't for him, so when he turned 18, he moved back to Cal to live with grandma. He is now a college graduate in business and finance, and doing well for himself.
Now that Doreen has been out here, she has grown to really like it in McKinney, TX (just north of Dallas), although she really misses family and friends back home. I feel so blessed that she is so supportive of my job. I am truly a lucky man!
Doreen and I hope to be able to travel a little and explore places we have never been to. We try to make it back to SoCal often enough for Doreen to remain a "California Girl." (She still hasn't bought a pair of cowgirl boots!)
Anyway. we look forward to seeing friends and former classmates at the 40th reunion!
