Helen's Story
Life
I now have three children, a daughter 35(Michelle), a son 38(Jason), and another daughter 40(Heather). I have one grandson, Hunter, born March 10, 2000, another son born 2014, to my son. I have 3 Grand-daughters, Gwenyth, born March 19, 2003.And as of Sept 28, 2004, named Cora Grace, Born to my Youngest daughter and her husband. Another daughter born Dec. 26, 2006,they named her Ruby Claire, a son born in July 2012. They live in another state, far far away, and I maybe I get to see them every few months.
I have been divorced and since remarried to a wonderful man, his name is Robert. Married 20 years this year, 2015. Since the 20 year reunion, in 1989.
Would love to chat to someone who graduated with me, I know it was a huge class but I know there are people out there that know me.
I've been in Tae Kwon do for about 12 years now. I started out with a goal to get my Black Belt no matter how long it took. It took me about 4 years, but I got it on October 6, 2007 and will study further to get better at it. I am now an instructor, I help the lower belts to acheive their goal of Black Belt and I enjoy it, because I have been where they are now in their belts. And the smiles and hugs from the kids just brighten my day. Not bad for this "old...Expand for more
" lady. My kids and grandson thinks it awesome that I could do that at my age. Age is just a number, if you put your mind to it you can do it. An old saying "Age is mind over matter, if you don't mind then it doesn't matter."
Workplace
I have worked at different jobs, but when I met my present husband he owned a welding business, had he taught me to weld, I loved it, could build my own furniture out of metal and to help build gates and fences. I have since retired from that business.
Trophies:In 2004 I was state champion in Oklahoma Karate Association in my age division for 1st place in sparring and 2nd place for forms. I really didn't like to spar, but did it anyways. I have a lot of trophies now gathering dust, but it was a goal I had set for myself that year, to see if I could do it. I don't go to tournaments anymore, but I still go to my Tae Kwon Do classes and keep up with everyone else. I am more limber now then when I first started.
A childhood memeory: I guess it would be the first time I met my parents. You see I was adopted when I was 7 years old. A lot of you don't know that. I saw my future Daddy and jumped in his lap and it was love at first site. I don't have any regrets about being adopted because I knew my parents loved me.
