Hollie's Story
Life
I left Galien almost twenty years ago. I was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia for almost five years. From there my unit went to Saudi Arabia during desert storm. Then I was stationed in Korea where I met my husband. I was discharged from the Army at Fort Hood, Texas and then moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where my husband was stationed at Fort Carson. After he was discharged, he became a Colorado State Trooper and we moved to Johnstown, Colorado where I attended Colorado State University. After I graduated with my teaching degree we bought a house and land on the eastern plains in Galeton, Colorado and I am currently teaching science at an alternative middle ...Expand for more

My parents and youngest sister Stacie still live in Galien. Stacie and her husband bought mom and dads old house a few years ago and mom and dad built a new house back by the woods on their property.
My husband and I, and our two girls try to visit about once a year. We used to come home during the Berrien County Fair. However, our school starts around the same time so we havenÂt been able to go to the fair in the last couple of years. ThatÂs the thing I miss the most. The county fairs out here are nothing compared to the Berrien County Fair, although, we do have the Greeley Stampede, The Denver Stock Show, and Cheyenne frontier Days.
