Holly's Story
Life
(2010) Life is good. I have been married for 23 years to Jim. We moved to Canton, Ohio in 1994 due to his job. This area is a much better one to raise kids--good moral values are still emphasized; God is still mentioned in the schools; and Genesis is examined in literature class. Strangely enough, though, I still miss the food in Greektown. Opa! Jim and I are slowly working our way South. We have another home in West Virginia and frequently "get away". My only stipulation is that if it looks like I'm dying, he has to drive me to the Ohio side of the river. I was born a Yankee and I want to die one as well.
Our girls are now 18 and 20 with the oldest in college. My youngest is a senior in high school and will be studying Music Performance and mathematics in college. ...Expand for more
The oldest spent a semester studying abroad at the University of Leipzig (Germany)and is pursing a German Translation degree. They are both awesome!
My niece graduated from Churchill in 2007 and her younger brother graduated in 2009. We'll all be hanging in the commons together! Go Chargers! (Those old class photos are still there, by the way!)
School
If I had it all to do over again, I would definitely take Mr. Borso's mythology classes again! He was a terrific teacher!
I'm also forever grateful for the secretarial block I took. I paid for college by working as a secretary.
If I had the wisdom of today in high school, I would have chosen different coursework overall. I believed my choices were to be a teacher or a nurse. I didn't even know what a commercial lender was.
