Homer(Trey)'s Story
Life
Went to LSU for a couple of years before they told me I could not attend anymore. Tried to work around Baton Rouge but nothing to brag about. Joined the Navy in '87 and spent the first year in technical training then the next 3 years in GUAM of all places. I got married and had my first son there. Spent time in Japan, South Korea, The Phillipines, Okinawa and did some time in The Gulf War. I went back for another year of some advanced technical training and then went to Brunswick, Maine for 4 1/2 years and saw a whole bunch more of the world. My second son was born there. Decided it was my turn to do the training so I went to Pensacola, Florida to teach at the Naval Aircrew Candidate School for 3 years. I then went back to Brunswick for 4 1/2 more years of flying around the world. I got devorced in 2000. Just got remarried in 2003 to a Louisiana girl I met in Maine. We moved to Patuxent River, Maryland in2004 and that is where I finished up my 20 years in the Navy on 31 May 2007. Would love to hear from you guys.
School
What the hell happened? ...Expand for more
Where has the time gone?
Hard to believe it has been 23 years.
College
Taken classes off and on the whole time I've been in the navy.
Workplace
Moonlighted as a shortorder pasta chef for a while and waited tables at a couple of places in Gulf Shores, AL.
Military
Been in the Navy all this time and retired in May of 2007 after 20 years of service. I have done more than I ever dreamed of back in school. I have seen some great places and a few that would turn your stomach. Made lots of great friends along the way and wish I could remember all the good times we had but I killed far to many brain cells with booze early on in my enlistment. I spent 3 years in Guam with VQ-1 and saw the West Pacific from there. I spent 4.5 years in Brunswick Maine with VPU-1 and saw the other side of the world from there. 3 years in Pensacola let me give somthing back to the Navy as an instructor at NACCS. after that I went back to Brunswick with VPU-1 and helped the fight in the Mid East against terror. Now I am in Patuxent River Maryland and just hung up my hat last year.
