Howard's Story
GO UTES! After 33 years of either playing for and supporting the University of Utah football team, they finally became the REAL National Champions. Only undefeated team in the country and we kicked the crap out of the best the BCS would give us. BCS who? We don't need BCS in Utah to know who the champions are! Florida who? Oh, never mind, they lost a game to a team that wasn't even conference champion material! University of Utah Utes are the real thing.
Life
I know I shouldn't say this, but my two years at Westside were two of the best years of my life! Luckily they were the start of a great life. After playing football at the Univ. of Utah, I got serious and started working. I entered a business with my dad and then broke free and have been in the trucking industry or trailer rental business ever since. I got married to an absolute "10" when I was 27 and have been happily married (without one fight!) ever since. She somehow manages to keep everything in order at our home and keeps me in line. She is also a board member for the Primary Children's Telethon (part of the Childrens Miracle Network) that raises money for the Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City. This year they raised over $3 Million in the two day telethon over May 31 and June 1 in their portion of the Children's Miracle Network. as won national honors in business competitions, 22 yr old son who was studying international finance and banking and Mandarin at college and has four months left of a two year mission for our church in Brisbane, Australia speaking Mandarin Chinese there, and a 19 yr old who is going to BYU on an academic scholarship this fall and is singing in the BYU Womens Chorus (very hard to get in to!). She was a National Honors Society member and was a member of numerous other scholastic honors groups. She maintained an all "A" grades through school and played on the Varsity Volleyball team at the state championships that was ranked eigth in the nation her sophomore year (5'9" tall). She is also a very gifted singer and has decided to drop volleyball so she can focus on music. She has received top ratings and scores in singing from the University of Utah music professors at Federation. She is also the Treasurer for the Tocqueville Society a political science group at BYU.
I listed my company's website if you want to see what I do. I work in various church leadership and volunteer positions and work with the young adults, 12 to 19 age group. I am still in SLC, UT, the best place in the world to raise a family! My wife and I love to take international cruises with a group of eight other friends and vacation at Lake Powell on a houseboat with those same friends every fall. Life is good, my kids are great and my wife is better! I have definitely been blessed!
