Howard's Story
Life
Hi. Well, to briefly catch all of you up, on the day after I graduated from Principia Upper School, I biked all the way to Maine. Then lived briefly in Germany, later Kenya (with Peace Corps) and Guatemala.
In 1985, my life changed dramatically for the better when I met and soon thereafter married (in 1987) Ms. Bethene Nebel Stewart. We had two sons, who are now 32 and 31. Unfortunately, after a long battle with cancer, Beth passed away in 2005, and I would say tht I lost my very best friend on this earth.
For the last 23 years I've been managing a manufacturing company in Tucson, Arizona, which I've run since 2000. It helps keep my life very challenging and rewarding. This has truly been the ideal dream job for me, as it constantly demands strategic decision-making, and the ability to motivate others.
In my spare time I still like to cycle, as well as to hike. Probably my favorite activity is to go out biking "The Loop" with friends. The Loop is a 54-mile trail that circumnavigates Tucson..

ce Beth passed away I've also taken up ballroom dancing, which has become my favorite pasttime. I can now salsa/mambo, marenge, foxtrot, waltz, samba, rumba, tango, west and east coast swing, cha cha, and progressive 2-step. It's lots of fun and has enabled me to make many new friends.
I would love to get reacquainted with some of you Prinos, even those of you who I don't remember, as I could always use a new friend or two.
Workplace
My work life since Principia College has been pretty interested. I did a stint with the Christian Science Monitor followed by a stint with the Peace Corps as a teacher in Africa. Directly after that I became a stockbroker, then I owned and managed a couple of ice cream stores, one of which was ranked "Best Ice Cream in Tucson" all 5 years. After that I got reinvolved with a manufacturing company that my folks started in 1970. In the year 2000 I became president of this company. In 2002 I was further gratified when I was selected as Tucson's Small Business Leader of the Year.
