Irving's Story
Life
After OHS, I attended UC Berkeley for four years (majoring in math) and UC Davis for two (getting an M.A.T. degree in math education).
I've been teaching math since 1976. I was a public school teacher in Novato from '76 to '85 (working with grades 7-9), taught grades 4 through 8 at Black Pine Circle School (a private school in Berkeley) from '85 to '90, and served as the Math Specialist for grades K-8 at Bentley School (a private school in Oakland) from '90 to 2005. In the summer of 2005, my wife and I moved to Oregon. During the 2005-06 school year, I served as a Math Coach, working with middle school teachers in the Medford School District.

partment of Southern Oregon University, where most of the courses I taught were intended for future teachers. I retired at the end of 2014 and was awarded Professor Emeritus status.
I have a consulting practice, leading seminars for math teachers throughout the US and Canada.
In 2019, I created Felabra Press and published "Only Hope: A Survivor's Stories of the Holocaust," a book of my mother's stories about her experiences. I contributed to the book, writing the foreword, afterword, and the editor's notes. I invite you to visit onlyhopebook.com to learn more. The book (in paperback form) can be purchased on that website or (as a Kindle book) from Amazon.
I live in Ashland, Oregon with my wife, Joanne.
