Ivy's Story

Life 29 1/2 years with State of Oregon. 26 with Employment. 22 as Adjudicator. Retired on my Birthday, 10-26-01. I was married breifly in 1968-69, and have one son, Paul, born 3-11-69. He is married and lives in Dundee with his lovely wife, Kim and my granddogs, Max and Tazo. My first action upon retirement was to drive my motorhome to Disneyland and back (my first time there). It was great, too bad it's in California! The roads are terrible, and I feel lucky the Tioga and Lady (blackdog) and I returned in one piece! I traded the Tioga for a Traillite B+ in 2002. I continued to travel various places in the motorhome until I got bored and sold it recently. I now have a 2009 Chevy Impala, which I expect will take me around to see more of the country once the weather ...Expand for more
improves. Lady Blackdog is 15 1/5 now, and I expect she will be moving on soon. Update: Lady moved on February 3, 2009. Miss her like heck, but not ready to get another one until I am too old to travel. The kids let me keep Tazo whenever they go away for weekends, etc. So I still get the occasional puppy fix. In 2005, I moved to Lafayette, to be closer to Paul, Kim and the granddogs (they tried but were not able to have children). I belong to Just For Fun Singers in Salem, and commute to rehearsals every Friday morning through the School year. Our roster is up to about 100 now, and we sing for various community events, at retirement centers, churches and just about anywhere we are invited. See us at the State Fair August 28. The devil made me do it.
This was my view from the garage when I got home last night. A half hour later, it was hailing! I did manage to find a few irises to take to the cemetary this morning.
I believe in the right to bare arms. If you are offended or disgusted by seeing these fat old things, too bad!!
I am having a great time, driving around the country. Only miss my Froggy!

The new bedspread/quilt is one step closer to completion. First I laid out all of the big squares with the embroidery to make sure they would be organized in a pleasing manner. Then I stuck in the in between pieces. Th
This one should have been in there first. Oh well. I will start sewing it together soon. Did not get to it today. And will be in Salem all day tomorrow. UPS says the drums will be here Thursday, so . . . . . . . quilt

Thank you ladies, and Paul. Sorry I wasn't able to get to my camera before he left, but, yes my favorite son was here and brought clamps to hold the frame as well as stitching around at least 2 or 3 of the squares! A spec

Yes! We did have a great time at the Ester Lee and terrorizing Lincoln City for a few days. Sunday's performance was good too. Great audience. We were outnumbered for once! Judy counted 52 singers on stage. Not sure i
