Allan's Story
Life
I spent more than 20 years at sea, and retired as a ship captain. I took a second degree in joournalism and televison. From there, I worked as a reporter/producer in Albuquerque, Shreveport, and Portland for a total of 5 years. After that I developed, produced, appeared-in, and syndicated a documentary TV show called "Pacific Outdoors for 3 years. Following that I lost so much money that I had to return to sea, and become a captain. I retired from going to sea in 1996, and I have been working as a management consultant,
I met my first and current wife while we both worked at a TV station in Albuquerque in 1976. She travelled with me to Shreveport and then to Portland where we settled for 13 years. ea a lot, and so Shelly could have her parents close by for support.
We decided to move to Southern California in 2001, and we are now in Huntington Beach. I work in Long Beach for a consulting firm, and travel extensively consulting, teaching, and conducting projects.
Life is good. I wish I had not lost $millions in the stock market crash, but I am happy to be working and doing work that matters both to me and to the world.
My kids are now 22 and 17. They are both at home still. Older child is a daughter who is about to move out on her own. Younger son is a rock drummer who is soon to be off to the Musicians Institute in Hollywood. My wife is an actor, and hoping to hook up in Hollywood.
I would like to hear from CVHS people. I attended the reunion in 1999, but missed the one this year. Adios.
