Marshall's Story

Well, after much indecision about the meaning of life and "other" seemingly popular contemplations, i somehow i managed to get my guano together and graduate from an accredited university --with a degree in Engineering (go figure huh?) and a double minor in 'whatever'. Strangely, math was my worst subject in high school, i don't know what made me finally get the numbers game down? Maybe it was all the beautiful female coeds in the Engineering department (Funny huh? hopefully you are laughing at that comment).. Oh the irony.. I still live in Mempho -not, I'm in Arlington actually. Love it out there. Small town feeling with really nice people. There isn't a Walmart in sight -yet, but yes, there is a Nail/pedicure place and recently.., a Hot Wing's place. The beginning of the end has started. Work allows me to travel a lot, sometimes too much. I can't go to Japan anymore. They think I'm Godzilla. I'm getting tired of being profiled because of my last name... You'd figure that if every federal and start government agency has my finger prints and pictures, that the TSA would get a grip -on something other than certain parts/areas of my body. Can they not hire an attractive woman? Yeah, i know, that sounds so sexist.. Doing the career thing at FedEx --been there waaaay too long. I work for Services in the Innovation division. Its sort of like "Area 51" of the company. We get to work on really cool 'stuff' that is difficult to get your hands around. Most of the people I work with there have post graduate degrees ...Expand for more
and really big brains, they are all very very smart folks, but their interpersonal skills are lacking and they cant seem balance their checkbooks. I think they are just keeping me around for the heavy lifting -or they are scared of me or something, i dunno. I finally managed to catch the woman of my dreams -i had been pursing her for about 25 years. During a weak moment she agreed to marry me. Yeah, you know, no one can keep running away that long huh? After 10 years we still haven't had an argument (yes we do talk to each other regularly). For those of you that knew me, my temper was something to contend with whilst i was a youth right?.. I guess not having kids and getting the perfect wife has something to do with mellowing me out, less stress i guess.. Can you imagine the hell on earth that would have been unleashed if i had procreated??? Other than that, any day i wake up is a good day, until i get into the office that is. Thank goodness for gymnasiums, stress reliever. I still see some of the ole classmates regularly. Its like nothing has changed since high school. Its nice to have some good friends like that. I do wish i had kept in touch with more folks though. We had a special connection to everyone coming from such a small school. You really got to know everyone (good or bad). I didn't get to see too many folks at the last reunion. Not sure what happened there? Maybe no one recognized me? Seemed like i saw a lot of faces i didn't recognize (too many brain cells damaged during college i suppose).
