Jack's Story

Life After high school I moved to Kelowna and attended college. From there I received my commercial pilot's license. I found out getting my first job was the toughest thing I would ever face. I moved from Kelowna to Iqaluit, NWT to work for a company loading cargo. I did that for a year and got fed up and moved back down south to look for a flying position. I went on a road trip for 3 months knocking on doors looking for work. Finally, a position in Regina came open. I worked there for a year until I was laid off and luckily found a job right away in La Loche, SK (don't even ask). I stayed there for a year until my employer required me to take one of his planes and go on contract for a few companies. So I started up...Expand for more
the engines and flew to Slave Lake, AB for a few months, then to Fort McMurray and then finally to Thompson, MB. Ahhh all three "fun in the sun" spots of Canada. Yeah, right. I worked for this company for one more year and finally took a position from a company in Slave Lake that I previously worked for when I was on contract. After a total of 4 years of being on medevac and living on a pager with no life I moved to Calgary to fly corporate. Now I am in saskatoon and working for a company flying scheduled runs and waiting for Air Canada to call me but I think they threw my resume in the "round" folder. I found that aviation has to be the most degrading industry out there but I could never imagine doing anything else!
