Jack's Story

Jack Perry is a media technology pioneer respected across industries for his leadership and vision. From his earliest entrepreneurial venture creating statistical software for Olympic athletes training in the 1990s, to launching solutions related to digital television and the delivery of network programming over the Internet, Mr. Perry has demonstrated an unsurpassed ability to foresee and pursue leading-edge business opportunities. In his most recent position as founder and CEO Syncbak, Jack created the technology that powers CBS All Access and FOX TV Everywhere. He was the first to deliver broadcast television to mobile devices and tablets in 2012. Prior to founding Syncbak he took Decisionmark Corp. d/b/a TitanTV Media from startup to profitibility to being ranked as one of Inc. magazines fastest growing companies in 2005. Mr. Perry has served as chief architect of the companies key intellectual property. He has lead development of several patented technologies (seven awarded to date) including Geneva, the application that serves as the foundation for resolving Federal copyright issues between rights holders and content delivery platforms, including the Internet. Mr. Perry testified before Congress prior to adoption of the Satellite Home Viewer Act in 1999, and its 2004 extension, SHVERA, and has been called upon most recently to address issues related to the digital transition and delivery of content via the web. Mr. Perry also created TitanTV.com, the first electronic program guide to be DVR-enabled for use on the web. ogy. This historic application makes it possible to stream over-the-air signals via the web within the parameters of the established network affiliate structure. It is the only technology of its kind to authenticate and control streaming of local TV. As Chief Titan, Mr. Perry is a regular presenter at broadcast and technology conferences around the world, including the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), NAB Futures Summit, Streaming Media East and West, Kagan's Digital Household Summit, CES and Digital Hollywood. Mr. Perry has also been elected to the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, was named a member of the Consumer Electronics Association's Academy of Digital Television Pioneers and was voted one of the most influential people under 40 by Dealerscope Magazine, a leading consumer electronics industry publication. In addition, Mr. Perry has been a Keynote Speaker at the DTV Symposium and worked with former FCC Chairman, Michael Powell, to launch the formation of a Digital Television Consumer Education Plan. Prior to Decisionmark, Mr. Perry worked with high-growth, technology-based companies such as Powercore, CE Software, and Interactive Resources. He also co-authored, Groupware: Technology and Applications, a respected book among early dotcom pioneers and in 1989 created RunningCounts, a statistical software package used by athletes in preparation for the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games. A resident of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mr. Perry earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree from the University of Iowa. He and his wife, Annette, raise three children and in his spare time Mr. Perry has completed sixteen marathons, numerous triathlons, plays baseball and still laces up his skates to play competitive hockey.
