Jackie's Story
Life
We moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico at the end of April. I started working for Murrill Electric, LLC. We have changed our lives. I am no longer a tax preparer. We are waiting to see how our new life goes. We live about 40 miles away for Joe Akins, my best friend since the 6th grade at Friendship school.
I live in Burns Flat, Ok. I am in a relationship. I have two children, a boy, Marc , he is a partner in a computer repair company in Elk City, OK. A daughter, Melissa, she is divorced. I am a Grandfather, my granddaughter's name is Meliah Daelle Sutton, born Feb 15th, 2006. I own the H & R Block Franchise in Clinton, Ok.
School
Went to High School at Navajo went to grade school at Friendship before it burned down. The Friendship school and Warren school consolidated and made Navajo.
Workplace
After I got out of the Army in 1973, I was going to go back to college, but I got out after the semester had already started, so I went to work for Pizza Hut part time and I en...Expand for more
ded up Managing several stores for about 5 years. I then went to work at 3M company in Weatherford and worked in different positions there from floor work to working in the engineering department. I quit that to go into the oil field. I became a mud engineer for Magcobar for almost two years and then the oilfield kind of died so then I mananged a couple of Love's country stores for awhile and then went back to work for 3M, which sold out and became Dyna-Turn and moved to Elk City. I moved to Elk City and worked for Dyna-Turn as the head of Quality Control and kept getting moved down the ladder until I was running a machine on the floor on the straight midnite shift. That was the first job I ever started at the top and worked my self all the way to the bottom. During that time I took a tax course through H & R Block, for my own information, thinking I could help myself out doing my own taxes and 2 years later I ended up buying the Franchise and have been here for 15 years.
