Jackie's Story
I went to Gunn Jr High and James Bowie High School, graduating in 1980. I then went on to Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas because it was close to the family ranch so I could go to school and show horses on the weekends.
After college, I started showing cutting horses as a hobby while working at Agricultural/Equine Breed publications. My first job after college was as advertising assistant for a horse racing magazine. Then I was editorial assistant and then Assistant Editor of a National Cattle magazine.
In '86 I went to work as Advertising Manager for a Equine Breed Association magazine in Fort Worth and was there for 11 years. Still showing cutting horses during this time.
Then I was engaged to a man in Oklahoma, we split up after 3 years and I went to work in the trade show industry. That was in '96.
I am single and still working in the trade show industry but I'm in advertising and publishing for this company that produces the 50th largest trade show in the nat...Expand for more
ion. I also just got my Real Estate license in the last year and specialize in farms and ranches and residential. I am hoping to switch to full time Real Estate in a couple of years.
I no longer show horses but I'm still involved in the industry and have kept up my friendships in the horse business. I have two Bichon Frise dogs that are very spoiled, but in a good way ;)
I was kind of shy in school but had friends in all the social groups as they say....I believe back then they called them socials, ropers and freaks. I didn't fit in to any of those categories because I had friends in all those groups!
I showed horses so much that I didn't do much with friends from school socially. Most of my friends that I ran around with were from the horse show world.
I am a member of Fielder Road Baptist Church and have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior.
If you remember me from Junior High or High School, would love to hear from you and catch up.
Blessings,
Jackie
