James's Story
Life
After CHS spent a year or so at UofD before deciding to join the Air Force and grow up. Returned to Delaware four years later to attend Deltech, hoping to be a piping designer for DuPont. Ran into a recession and ended up at Newport News Shipbuilding for five years. Followed my future wife to the DC area in '87 and have been supporting the Navy's engineering HQ (NAVSEA) since then. e at Univ. of Maryland and a MS in Info Systems Technology at George Washington Univ.. Been working as a naval architecture consultant since '97 on the Virginia Class Attack Submarine and conversion of SSBN726-729 to SSGNs.
Military
I worked electro-mechanical systems on Minuteman II ICBMs near Rapid City, South Dakota. Wasn't too excited about the assignment before I got there, but it's really a nice place; would be a great place to retire.
