James's Story

03/05/2022 My wife, Miranda, had a heart attack about two years ago and was left with a heart that was working at 40%. She was too weak to do an open heart surgery so they put in 4 stents. She was always coughing and so we went in to get her lungs drained, it didn't make any difference. she still coughed and stayed up all night, every night. Then after she got her twenty meds in order and figured out what was keeping her up., after a year could sleep a little. then they said it was pumping at only 10%. My son and I took care of her at home but, unfortunately, she passed away in her sleep on January 21st 2022. All I can say is She was a great partner/soulmate and I still can't believe it happened. Having to cancel every credit card and insurances and getting rid of her clothes, it's not an easy task. I've been working on it every day since it happened. My son is taking it pretty hard as well as the rest of the family. She was the best cook and baker. She used to make brownies for our Doctor and they were so happy to see her every time! She made noodles for the Dog groomers and they loved her too! looking back, I will always miss her. 10/10/16 My brother, Jesse is over from Colorado Springs. We, along with my brother in law, Humphrey have been riding bikes at the beach eating lunch at Rubys and the next day at Kaptain Kidds and making the best of his visit. It has been excellent! Today we go to breakfast with our sister Mary then, unfortunately, I have to take him back to the airport. WOW, It was like a vacation for me too! Life I went to Begg Jr. High. After Jr. High half my friends went to Mira Costa and half to Aviation. Thats why I'm listed on both. I only attended Mira Costa in the gym getting westling lessons from my friend, John Sutherman. I'm a Plumbing Contractor in Torrance. The kids all grew up and are all out of the house except my 29yr. old boy, Ryan. I always look forward to biking on the weekends. . It's BEAUTIFUL!!! I used to run Cross Country in High School. 2009 is another year of bicycle tours for me. This year I have done The Tour de Sewer (Bell Gardens), Cruisin' the Conejo (Thousand Oaks), Ojai Valley Century (100.9Miles)5200' of climbing. I did the first Santa Clarita Century (metric) These rides repeat every year. Get started now and in a year you could be doing Centur...Expand for more
ys! Sometimes I like going on a 50 mile ride that starts at Willow and the LA River. It's all flat with little rises in elevation like every mile of about 10 feet. There's an on-ramp to the bike path. North to the Rio Hondo river and north to Whittier Narrows Dam then head over to the San Gabriel River and go south to Seal Beach then West through Long Beach and then back North to Willow again. It's a blast! It's safe and no cars. You just have to bring everything to fix a flat if it happens. Lately, (8/25/14) I've been just riding about 40 miles per ride. I take the LA river north to the Rio Hondo river that heads toward El Monte airport all the way to Peck Park which is North El Monte by Baldwin Park. One time I went there and saw a pile of wood and cardboard in the middle of the Basin area. The next day on the news they said there was a womans body in the heap of rubble. I thought it was strange because apart from that pile of stuff the basin was clean cement anyway it's right near Baldwin Park where a lot of d things go down. this was only about a year ago. Sometimes that Peck park has some real shady people hanging around the picnic tables. Lately, I go up to Grant Rea Park in Montebello and then turn around. It's plenty of a ride for a workout. I just want to burn calories and this works! Come visit my page at jim cullett on facebook where I have lots of pictures and videos. Well now it's 7/2715 time for an update. Still riding but usually only once a week. Last Sunday I Parked under the power lines on Francisca in Redondo Beach and went to The end of Ballona Creek. I started at 7:00. It was so nice. The only improvement to the Ballona Creek bike path is they put the street names painted on the path so you'll know where you are. It goes all the way to McManus Park. Its a lot bumpier than the LA River but it was cool because I had the morning shade provided by the two story houses all along Hermosa Ave. going North. I was back by 9:30AM with the day still ahead of me. 080716.. I'm heading out on a close bike ride just from 190th to the La Ballona Creek bridge and back. about 20 miles. It's a perfect day in the South Bay Today! My brother, Jesse, is coming to visit in September and hopefully maybe Jim Hart will come to visit and do a little bike ride, Lunch and a pitcher of Stella with us!

Back in 2009, I wanted to build a custom bike, So I bought all of the parts on e-bay. Then I went to a bike shop where they sold the Scott frame that I wanted and had them put it all together. It's a dream. After seeing one
My Scott Addict R-1 with SRAM RED components and titanium brakes. Ceramic bearings all through wheels and components. It's so lite! and so fast.
