Left school thinking I was going to be a rock star. Played lead guitar in few bands starting at 16 years of age. Never became a star, but I did become a serious drug addict. By 1982 I was shooting up methamphetamine as my main source of energy and drinking heavily. Often I would wake up at someone's house and not even know how I got there or who those people were. More than once I woke up on the side of road laying in my own vomit. My dad had become a Christian about 3 years prior and told me that I needed to be Born Again by putting my faith in Jesus Christ and asking him to forgive my sins and save my soul. At that time I laughed at him and said, "So you found a crutch in your old age?" It was August 27th of 1982 when I reached the place where life didn't seem worth living. The thought or rather a question came into mind as though God were asking, "Why should I let you take another breath?" The horrible truth was that I couldn't think of one good reason.
