James's Story
Well, I stayed in Richmond for several years. Finally after some ups and downs, I attended IVTC taking welding. Ironically, I haven't welded since. Shortly after beginning classes, I answered a pen-pal type of ad in a magazine I received. I only received 2 issues and after answering 4 ads in each, I got a letter back from a 20 yr old in a tiny town in Michigan. The town's population was about equal to the 1976 graduating class. Two years later, after several phone calls and a couple visits, I moved to Michigan(1983) and the following spring we were married. art for others. They probably got that from their mom. After some personal struggles, I am now considered disabled and awaiting my back pay from social security. The town I now live in is Ionia, Michigan. When I moved into the area, it seemed like around every corner was a prison. At one time there were 6 prisons in operation. Some things you may not know about me are: Birthday is 6/5/58. My once nice looking BROWN hair is a mixture of brown, grey, and scalp. Oh well, look at all the shampoo I save! My weight went up and down (mostly up). At one point in 2013 I weighed only 219 lbs. I hadn't been that low since junior high. I am now about 305 but I claim my shoes weigh 20 lbs each!! ADIOS!! Hope to hear from you soon!!
