James's Story
Life
Graduated Staples 1965, Johns Hopkins 1969, Married a nurse in 69, Three kids, Oldest a Dentist in Plymouth, MA, Middle Son a Builder In Plymouth, MA and Daughter a Nurse in Bangor Maine. Divorced in 1999 and moved to Maine and retired. Had a GSP and hunted (in picture) Have a few old houses that I rent apartments in Bangor. Actually a full time job.
Since Connecticut we moved to Baltimore, DC, Buffalo (Lockport, NY), and Plymouth, MA. I now live in Bangor, Maine.
After Hopkins I taught school in Baltimore for 4 years, then went to work for Union Carbide/ First Brands/STP/Clorox for the next 27 years. I retired at 50.
I have done a lot of traveling as my folks lived in Europe after I left Hopkins, and my Brother, John, lives in Paris, France now. My Dad is still living in California now, moving there after living in the Tucson, AZ area. My sister, Karen, is in Oregon. I enjoy...Expand for more
golf and traveled quite a bit with my job, visiting many of the great courses in the US, Islands, Canada and Mexico.
In 2013 I was diagnosed with fatty liver disease which led to cirrhosis. Failed health for two years until Jan 24, 2015 when a miracle happened and I got a new liver and kidney in a transplant at Lahey Clinic in Mass. After almost six months I am thriving and all my labs are perfect, as if nothing was wrong. A lot of prayers and candles were lit and I pulled through. Sad part was that I lost my buddy and companion while in Mass recovering, my dog Pepper. He was 14 and since we spent all our time together since he was a pup, and I was gone, he just couldn't make it. I have a new pup now, another GSP named McIver and plan to let him train me to hunt again..funny.
Have kept in touch with a few of my Hopkins classmates, but not many from Staples or Baltimore before.
