Life
Thought I'd be a physicist when I went off to college, but found I was more interested and inclined toward the romance of science than the nuts and bolts. Dissatisfied with lots of things, decided to get work in Japan after graduation teaching jr. and sr. high English. d youth hostelled around northern Europe before heading home to Connecticut.
After not finding the type of work I wanted, decided I'd be happiest in a job where I kept learning new things and realized I could do that in academe. So off to the West Coast for a Masters and Ph.D., in Japanese history. Family brought me back East, and here I am in north-central PA.
