James's Story
Life
Well, there is a quite a bit to tell. The last time I saw everyone, way back in 1996, I was working as a personal trainer. In 1999, I got married and got into the IT field. I am currently working for Philips Medical Systems as a Tech Support Engineer for their PACS systems.
My wife and I have 2 children, Mallory 5 and Gavin 3.
In 2005 I began working on my Master's Degree in Information Systems and i keep very busy
School
I moved to Stockbridge just before my 10th grade year and was a little nervous about meeting new people. I had a sinking feeling that I was coming into an environment where everyone had been together since elementary school. Basically, I just tried to fit in. I joined the football team as a manager and went on to manage the wrestling, track and baseball teams. What started out as a way to meet people and fit-in, ended up being a "career" of sorts. I made a lot of good friends, and at times felt as if I fit-in, but there was always something keeping me on the outside. So, I joined NJROTC, also another attempt to fit-in with a group, and again, there was a basic connection, and again a palpable emptiness. Truly, I didn't fit into 1 part...Expand for more
icular group.
Ultimately, I discovered that I had many friends from many different groups.
My greatest pleasure in Highschool was getting to know so many people and enjoying our friendships. Sadly, when school ended, so did the majority of the relationships I had. I wish I could change that.
College
College was a huge eye-opener, as far as personalities and dispositions are concerned. The biggest adjustment was getting swallowed up in the different cultures around campus. I continued from Student Manager in High School to Student Athletic Trainer in college and the pressures from THAT job alone were enough to make me question my choice of going to college, to say nothing about the course load that I had to endure in pursuit of a diploma.
I did learn a lot in college, mostly outside of the class room and mostly dealing with other's emotions and sensitivities. Still, the friendships I gained there, much like those in High School, faded after graduation.....only this time it took a whole lot longer and stung a whole lot more. Although I do have to admit, there are friends from both chapters of my life that I find myself thinking about more and more each day....
