I figured it was about time to update this profile, so here goes. First off, I did not relocate to San Luis Obispo to attend graduate school; I am staying right here in LA County, and am now officially a candidate for a Master of Arts Degree in Political Science from CSU Los Angeles, starting in the Spring Quarter of 2009. I guess I just couldn't tear myself away from my beloved hometown of Whittier. I also left the State Senate at the end of January 2009 in order to attend graduate school. It was a difficult decision (especially in this economy), but I am heartbroken at what has become of the legislature; for reasons of its own making, it has lost the respect of just everyone in the state. So, when my former employer, Senator Bob Margett, retired after two terms in the upper house, so did I. I love the institution and state government, and hope to possibly return someday if it makes much-needed organizational changes. We shall see. In the meantime, I am turning my attention to new adventures in life--which is a nice way of saying that I am currently unemployed! I do like life outside ...Expand for more
