James's Story
Life
Married (2nd time)to a wonderful woman and my best friend. Between us we have 7 kids - three girls, four boys - and five granddaughters. None at home, four married, one passed away. Retired from the Air Force in 1998. We moved from Maryland to Melbourne, Florida, in 2001, where we both worked for Northrop Grumman. I retired in 2012 and maintain the Florida house while my wife finishes up her civil service time with the Veterans Administration in Washington DC. Family home on Lake George sold in 2009. Mom's house outside of Saranac Lake sold in 2010. Drop me a line...
School
Yeah, BHBL Spartans. Graduated by the skin of my teeth. Wouldn't want to go through it again, but the experience has been invaluable as my children have gone through some of the same challenges. It's tough sometimes to...Expand for more
admit your choices when your kids are faced with the same ones and you know darn well they must not make the same mistake you did. But will they listen? Maybe...
College
Utah State was a lot of fun, so was school. Syracuse was intense, challenging and worth it. Thank you Air Force for footing the bill.
Workplace
I've been here since early 2001. This was my first job outside the Department of Defense since 1980. I was responsible for public relations for an unmanned aircraft called Global Hawk and all of it's related programs. I traveled a lot. I retired in December 2012 and maintain the Florida house (tax reasons) while my wife works in Washington DC.
I stay busy serving as the Council Commissioner for the Central Florida Council, BSA. More stuff at jim stratford on fb or linkedin jimstratford
