Jamie's Story

Life spence2tx(dot)tripod(dot)com School We moved several times so my happy memories were made in many schools! • Adam – I remember dance classes, cheerleading, singing Christmas carols, and Field Days with handmade t-shirts. Friends that stick out in my mind…Renee, Paula, Tiffany, Jennifer, Christie, Laura. Favorite teachers: Mrs. Walvard, Miss Sample, Miss Curfman. • Arnold – the days of London Fog jackets and tight jordache jeans. Speech competitions, new friends like Missy, Kim, and Denise, best friend Sharlette, slumber parties. I missed the girls so much when we moved! • Southwest – Rhonda made it bearable, Voris and Mike were funny, and Coach Meggers was scary! Never been so afraid of a ruler in my life. Trip to Dogpatch was crazy. Still remember the last football game before I left – we won. • St. Elizabeth’s – mainly a waste. Teachers were mediocre, except for Milford – who was the world’s worst ever. Sadler was a jerk. Kids were okay – Kwis, Moran, Tami, Marie and Julie made it fun sometimes. • Gibbons – memories: cramming people into the Mustang and heading for the beach, too many parties down at 14th Street, the plays and Drama with Risley, boring uniforms with keds and stacked socks, people laying out in the Florida sun in the school parking lot at lunch! Kwis, Tara Jean, Nikki, Missy, Terri Dude, Paula & Emily, Bill – arguing with Risley…Chris & Jeff sneaking out for lunch every day through the back gate, Dean Green letting me skip out for lunch and meet friends from Northeast. Sleeping in my car when I should have been in class. Messing with Chuck’s car and giving him a heart attack. Hanging out with Flying L’s and Raider Steve, Eric, Ben during the su...Expand for more
mmers. Grad Night. • Northeast – great memories, great school. Best friends Jen & Yesika. Jenner & Devon, Amy, Claire and Michelle. Shayne and Bobby driving me crazy in English class! AMT was so fun. Sneaking out of aerobics, salsa dancing in Spanish class. Hitting the Strip every Friday night and having more fun than was legal for our age. Welcome to 18. ;) College • Auburn – pledged AXO and those girls were very sweet to put up with me! I was 18 and obnoxious. Thanks, y’all.  Christie, Stacey, Lori the Best Big Sis, Jesse, Brandi. Too many great girls to mention. Boxers and Bowties mixers, Scrabble Socials, Crush Parties and Formals. Freezing cold water in the house every time someone flushed. Scary, nasty kitchen. Lol. Sleeping when I should have been studying, but still making my grades. One Alexis Carrington-wannabe with a vengeful streak. Lol. A merciful Initiation by grace. Epsilon Zeta chapter. • Sam Houston State – Delta Kappa Chapter. Best Lils Amy & Maria. Angie, Brenda B., McGrew & McGuire, Leah – “just listen to him talk to the answering machine and laugh.” Tiffany & Nicole cracking me up with their smart-*ss comments in Chapter. JB, too – “Everybody, SHUT UP and let’s get this finished! 90210 is starting in three minutes!” Shannon was a riot, loved Lori. Danielle dancing to Footloose. Bad boyfriends but some great dates! Barn Dance, formals, breaking into the Sig Tau house – things floating in the air???, stealing the Delt’s letters, more mixers and socials than I can remember names for. Rush sucked, but the songs are burned in my brain forever. A few nuts but mostly again, too many great girls to mention. I really missed everyone after I graduated.
