jan's Story
I graduated in 1968. I was working at Joe Tittle & Sons grocery store in Highland, Ind. I got married to Phillip Ball on October 19,1968. I quit work about 6 months later. I had a son (Phillip Jr.) on June 14, 1971. I moved to Lake Station in October 1972, where I lived until 1993. I had a grandson on June 28, 1990. I was divorced in January of 1991, and have not remarried. I worked at Petro Stopping Center, then Travel Port Truck Stop. I moved to Union City, Michigan for 6 months, but came back to this area in1994. I worked for Box Office Video in Merrillville (which later became Movie Gallery) for 5 years. Then I worked for Trump Casino for 6 years. I am now retired and I have a beautiful great granddaughter named Lailuh. I live with my son in the Gary area. ut. During High School, I hung out at the Beacon, (it was my home away from home). Later on when I started driving, I hung out at the Corral too. I hung out with Billie & Mary Stanford, Lois Dawson, Judi Hall, Shawnee & Debbie Wedding, Brenda & Linda Steapleton, Carol Baker, and my sister Linda. There were a lot of others, just too many to list. I dated Phil Kalinowicz, Johnny Konja, Joe Bair, Sammy Wheeler, Ronnie Rogers and a couple others. Phil was the main one though. In 1967, I got a white, 1963 Mercury Comet convertible. It wasn't much too look at, but I sure had a blast in that car. If you remember me, please get in touch.
