The person I've hoped for years to find is Nellie Watson. Other names I remember from Mrs. Cloninger's fifth grade are Shirley, Ella, twins Ronda and Vonda, Lee Ed Goddard, Gordon Hawkins, Breck Camp, Billy Griffith. Anyone who stayed in Knoxville might be able to help me find Nellie even though I don't know her married name. had a good life as a mother and full-time writer. Next year I hope to come back to Knoxville and visit Highland Avenue, with Van Gilder School a few blocks east of our old house, the Knoxville Writers Guild a few blocks west, and James Agee's childhood home just a few doors away! He's one of my main influences ("A Death In the Family," "Let Us Now Praise Famous Men") and here I was breathing the same air as a child and didn't know it!!
