Jane's Story
I lived in Rhode Island, California & Canada. High School; California (TOHS) & Canada (HDHS) University; Ontario.
I retired in 2006 - early retirement. Back in 2002 I used the internet to track down my family in California. We had not been in touch since late 1966.
This past week (July 12, 2011) I just found out that I'm still an American. A group of Americans who came to Canada as youths are called, "the lost children." So I'm officially a Canadian-American. There's a downside - we have to fill out 2 income tax returns & if we want to travel to the USA we need TWO passports.
During my teens I lost my soprano singing voice (not enough practice). By chance I entered public speaking contests. I carried over my speaking experience when performing in skits and presentations in the large workplace venues. Using humor in such pursuits made it all the more enjoyable.

as in psychology but dogs are something else. There so many fun and interesting dog videos on the internet. People like to talk to their pets as if they were human. If you play a dog video in which the owners speak Chinese, you'll understand as much as the dog does. *LOL*
Other interests are; Investing, American politics, the holocaust, ergonomics, health, nutrition, the environment, creating organized files, films, music, psychology in the workplace environment & internet interests. As a kid I liked swimming & fishing. As for reading it's non-fiction. It's mostly true crime, biographies and history.
The first task upon retirement was to work out my budget in Excel. The sexiest part of Excel is projecting inflation rates with different input. It was fun to watch the all the numbers changing in columns & rows. It's as if the whole worksheet were lighting up like a Christmas tree. Ironically, a teacher at TOHS gave me an F in algebra. Go figure.
