Janet's Story
"Life Since MDHS graduation, spent two years at Fanshawe College, London for Recorded Music Production & Engineering,worked a year in a recording studio in Niagara Falls, did background vocals on various demos & projects. Performed at a Hands Across the Sea Benefit Concert, Niagara Falls. Watched as two escaped baby bears from Marineland walked by the studios front door! Went into directing, hosting & producing television shows for 10 yrs,won 1st place award for a children's show on Fire Safety. Tension breaker at televised awards nights as a presenter, tripped on stage (not on purpose). Worked (10 years)as 1st base & sideline camera (fun time)at the Skydome for the Jays,Argos & corporate events. Lots of stories! Carlos was one of my favorites. Owned & operated a number of my own businesses... one being retail, wholesale, designing & firing fireworks shows for all occasions year round. Yep, I'm a licensed Pyrotechnician (fancy for firebug!)Am also a Reiki Master,Cert. Reflexologist, Meditation Instructor & work,teach,counsel in spiritual laws, insights & understandings & alternative healing. Studied meditation with Monks from Thailand, completed Kriya Yoga 2 Initiation, attend native Pow Wow's, Sweatlodges, Satsangs (Hindu celebrations of spirit). True spirituality transcends religious boundaries. Spent 3 days of teachings with H.H. the Dalai Lama. Have volunteered for Teen Esteem Program in schools, Out-of-the-Cold, & Actress for Medieval Faires. Counted cars for the MTO & have been a DRO, Poll Clerk & enumerator for past number of elections. Traveled extensively & have my Cert. to teach English as a second language in other countries. Driving trips across to both east & west coasts, down to Texas, jet boating thru Niagara rapids, & whirlpool. Drove out to California- freest I've ever felt was hanging off the streetcars flying down the hills in San Francisco, looked like Odie from the comics! Been hot-air ballooning over Napa; Reno; Las Vegas; Whale watching off coast of Cape Cod & B.C.; Rhine River cruise-Germany, stayed at base in Baden-Baden before Wall came down; Alps-Switzerland; Eiffel Tower-Paris; waterways cruise thru Amsterdam; climbed Dunn's River Falls-Ocho Rio's (great picture for Feng Shui); dog sledding Northern Ontario, Polar Express to Moosonee; whitewater rafting Ottawa river; Peggy's Cove-N.S.;cycling-Nantucket; jet airboating-Florida Everglades; submarine ride-Grand Cayman; steam train ride Silverton to Durango; 5 trips to England/ Scotland- Stonehenge & Avebury..& much more! Book written-Signs, Signals & Subtle Energies. Never married,no kids. Younger brother passed Mar. '93, father passed (May '04). Living in Cambridge. Was on the edge of human spiritual evolution June 2000, reminded myself of the lessons about "loss", that it's just an illusion, that there is no loss with love, for love can re-create the same or greater than...am now returning to that journey of faith & trust. It has been an amazing journey so far & am looking forward to embarking on a grand adventure (love to travel), sharing insights & creating an amazing future with someone extra special!! wns, Princess Grace's Gardens; Ruins of Pompeii;Leaning Tower Pisa-Naples; Santorini- didn't ride the donkeys(site of cataclysmic loss of Atlantis); Mykonos; Ephesus, Grand Turkish Bazaar Kusadasi,; Turkey (got on a nice camel and delivered spiritual lesson); Acropolis,Temple of Poseidon-Athens; Archeological site of Olympia; Town of Corfu; St.Mark's Sq in Venice at night... an amazing adventure! Spent a week in Manitoba exploring. Working freelance, alternative healing and looking for something new to dig into!! Maybe I'll even find a way to get my Oscar, the only dream I can remember from my childhood. Wouldn't that be something! Mom passed away March 10, 2010. Service held on the 17th. Took a train trip out to B.C., stops in Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Jasper, and many little towns in between. Spent three days on Jericho Beach in Vancouver. Everyone I met on this journey were relocating to B.C., many from my hometown area. Was seeing if it was a place I'd like to move to and work in. Met some wonderful people, took the train back. When one eats the body and blood of a fellow creature, one also absorbs the energies and qualities of that creature along with it. For the blood contains the essence of what we are, be it a lion or lamb. So to absorb these other qualities into our human selves, is to turn away from that goal which the Lords of Life have set before us: that of evolving beyond the animal kingdom, and into the loftier worlds beyond. In this light, each creature we devour sends us one step backward into our evolutionary past. Eat then, from the fruits of the plant kingdom instead, for this will encourage growth rather than decay. If that’s true, about going one step backwards into our evolutionary past when people eat animals, then some of us are coming close to the days of the cave man. Lack of reasoning skills, lack of communication skills and a whole host of other characteristics. We were supposed to be beyond and past all this in this day and age! Considering the times we are in, people going mad would not be a good thing. Especially when studies have shown extreme heat also make people crazy!
