Janet's Story
It's funny that they ask how you think you were perceived in school. I"m fairly certain that none of us know how others thought of us. (Except for the obvious cheerleaders, etc. who may have thought they were perceived as popular. But you never know, self-perception starts way, way back.) Someone on my list (initials cm) said they thought they were a loner. Maybe that was just in high school, because in grade school I remember them as being very entertaining, smart and having quite a few friends. Interesting how we remember ourselves.
This is for St. Justin School: Okay, how do I remember myself in grade school? Complete smart aleck, which got me in a lot of trouble. (I cleaned that tree in the principal's office more times than I remember...I should have become a botanis...Expand for more
t.) I was often in trouble for talking to the boys at recess (or playing basketball on the boy's side of the playground, but that was because I had brothers there at the time and the girl's didn't seem to play any real games except tetherball, of which there were like, what 5?
Does anyone remember Edward Hanley, John Voss and one other guy that got kicked out of school right before graduation because they put graffiti on the water fountain? Unless there was more to it, I thought that was pretty bogus. They could have just had them re-paint it or pay for the repairs like they do in cities now days. Of course, I don't recall what they wrote.
Ah well, memories are a trip, especially in retrospect. But I have to be at work at 5am so goodnight and the best to all. -Janet Buxton
