Janet's Story
Life
After dropping out of high school, I got my GED and went on and became a Registered Nurse. I work in the Operating room of a busy Trauma Center mostly assisting CardioThoracic Surgeons, but am able to assist all other specialties. I harvest vein and radial artery, that is attatched to the heart in bypass surgeries. Before this most recent venue I was assisting with Neurosurgery cases, which is still my backup love in this field. Nursing is a great profession and I truely enjoy what I can contribute in helping my patients in their recovery. The people I work with are ever changing because it is associated with the Medical School, so over the last 20 years I have met people from all over the world and have forged some great friendships. I never married, which was my choice. I do date some great guys and am always ready for a good party. I own my own home and share my house with 2 cats and a very lively Shar Pei. I work a lot of hours and take about 120 hrs of call every 2 weeks, so the time off from work is very free and charished. I often wondered about people from my old life in high school, and would love to hear from any of you. I love ...Expand for more
to cook and have won some awards doing so. I even belong to a dinner club that meets once a month and is themed, so every one brings a dish that compliments the nation of the host' choice. It is fun and experimental, because some of the dishes I probably would never have had the chance to try otherwise. I am very independent, and outgoing, and I love to experience all life offers, if for no other reason than to say that I did. I love to read and one of my favorites is "The Empty Drum" by Leo Tolstoy. I can converse with people from all walks of life, and am comfortable in my best faded jeans at a rock concert, or dressed to the nines for the theater or symphony. I love the Botanical Gardens and the Museums, and am always up for a good parade, or a day at the wineries. One of my favorite weekends is to fly to Toronto and going on a field trip to their wineries, and ending the day at Niagra Falls in one of the Bed and Breakfasts, falling asleep to the sound of the falls in the backround. My motto is that life should be lived to the fullest, because we never know what tomorrow brings. Hope to hear from some of you soon. Janet
