Janet's Story
I married Ralph Grimmer (class of '60) in December '63. We have three children--Dawn, Daniel and Erin. We stayed in the Chicago area until 1974 and relocated to Gallup, NM when we became McDonald's Owner/Operators. We were there for ten years and then had an opportunity to move to San Diego.
We sold our two restaurants in Gallup and bought one in San Diego. We then acquired three additional restaurants, deciding to not keep one at the end of a lease, and then had four McDonald's in the San Diego area for the last seven years. We've been out here since '84 and live in a small beach community--Solana Beach--which is just north of San Diego.

ons of our businesses. On that date, we sold our restaurants to another operator.
October 31, 2014, II left my position as business manager at St. James Academy. I had been on staff since September of 1995. I made some really good friends at SJA over the years and for that I'm really grateful.
2014 was a really busy year for our family and we're finalizing our business activities and then looking forward....
Think I'll stop here....didn't want to write a book!
Sadly, Ralph passed away 12/12/2015 after a very brief illness. We had a good, long run together. Wish it could have lasted longer, but we don't get to choose. I was very lucky to have had him as my partner and best friend, both in life and business.
